Looe Market is a modern facility with sales managed through an electronic clock bidding system in common with many European ports. The clock is mobile, so that the buyers can still see the fish they are bidding on.
The port is picturesque and home to many inshore trawlers, netters and hand-lining fishing boat and as it is in the centre of town there is always a great deal  of interest from summer visitors during the tourist season, when they are landing their catches.
